Un'eliminazione non è la fine della carriera, ne' tanto meno la fine dell'Eurovision Song Contest: lo sa bene Greta Salóme, che abbiamo incontrato il giorno stesso della finale. Malgrado la sua "Hear them calling" sia stata eliminata, Greta non si è affrettata a tornare nella sua bella Island,a ma si è fermata fino alla fine a Stoccolma.
Le abbiamo fatto una breve intervista nella quale ci ha mostrato tutta la sua serena determinazione. Eccola per voi!

Greta Salóme con la canzone
"Hear them calling" rappresenterà l'Islanda al 61° Eurovision Song Contest che si
terrà a Stoccolma dal 10 al 14 Maggio 2016.
Greta, classe 1986, ha rappresentato l'Islanda all'Eurovision 2012 in coppia con Jónsi e la canzone "Never forget". Si classificarono 20° con 46 punti. Greta è anche violinista ed ha inciso il suo primo album intitolato "The silence" nel 2012.
La canzone "Hear them calling" è
stata scritta dalla stessa Greta e nella versione originale si intitola "Raddirnar" (Le voci).
In diretta da Reykjavik, dall'Arena Laugardalshöll,
Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir e Guðrún Dís Emilsdóttir presentano le 6 canzoni
finaliste qualificatesi dopo le semifinali trasmesse nei due sabato precedenti.
Le canzoni sono giudicate da una giuria di esperti e dal
televoto. Le prime due classificate nel primo round vengono nuovamente
giudicate solamente dal televoto per decretarne la vincitrice.
A differenza delle semifinali, questa sera gli artisti
possono proporre la versione con testo in Inglese della loro canzone. Versione
che verrà poi usata all'Eurovision.

Inizia la gara la rappresentante islandese all'Eurovision
2012. Quest'anno la sua proposta è una bella ballata folk dal ritmo sostenuto
molto diversa da "Never forget".

Due grandi voci per questa romantica ballata forse un po'
troppo classica. Sicuramente negli anni 90 avrebbe avuto più fortuna.

Karlotta Sigurðardóttir "Eye of the storm"
Canzone soul con un tocco di funky; l'Inglese
aiuta molto in questo genere. Sarebbe una scelta diversa per l'Islanda.

Thórdís Birna Borgarsdóttir & Guðmundur Snorri Sigurðarson "Ready to
break free"
Brano moderno che strizza l'occhio ai successi
internazionali con molte parti rap ed un ritornello orecchiabile. È un po' una
mina vagante; potrebbe piacere o essere troppo rivoluzionario per i
telespettatori islandesi abituati a canzoni molto più tradizionali.

Elísabet Ormslev "Á ný"
L'unica ad avere lasciato il brano in lingua autoctona.
Una ballata un po' epica, un po' folk dove il violino la fa da padrone.

Dís Arnardóttir "Now"
Ritmo sostenuto per questa ballata che si potrebbe
definire poweful e corale. Grande voce per una delle favorite.
Intervallo tutto eurovisivo per festeggiare i 30 anni
dalla prima partecipazione del paese all'Eurovision dal 1986. Fra gli altri si
sono esibiti Loreen (vincitrice svedese dell'Eurovision 2012), Sandra Kim
(vincitrice belga dell'Eurovision 1986) e Maria Olafs (la rappresentante islandese del 2015).
